The stress was too much and, following moths of disharmony, Keenan (lead singer for Tool) left to record with his new project, A Perfect Circle. He eventually returned and wrote the vocals Lateralus, some of which documented the tubulence, Like the lyrics for Schism. Lateralus is said to be a train wreck but somehow it hasnt fallen yet. The enternal tensions not only failed to damage the musical chemisty but actually seemed to strengthen the songs. Lateralus has gotten Double Platnum thus fa and is still growing in numbers.
